Tasha McNerney, BS, CVT
Anesthesia and Pain Management Trainer

 

Tasha McNerney started working in the veterinary field in 1998 as a veterinary assistant. She attended Michigan State University and obtained a bachelors of science in 2002 majoring in wildlife biology. After graduation she worked in the field of wildlife rehabilitation in the Florida Keys working with shore birds specifically.

In 2003 Tasha moved to the Philadelphia area and began her veterinary technician training at Manor College in Jenkintown, PA. There she obtained an associates of science in veterinary technology. She passed the VTNE in June of 2005.

Tasha has worked at Rau Animal Hospital in Glenside, PA for eight years as an O.R. / Anesthesia technician. Her areas of interest include sighthound and brachycephalic anesthesia as well as pain management. In July of 2012 Tasha authored an article for the NAVTA journal entitled “Anesthesia in the Sighthound Patient”, and several articles for “Fetch” a blog dedicated to pet parents and she co-authored the chapter ” Surgical Pain Management” in Pain Management for Veterinary Technicians. Tasha is also currently working on obtaining her CVPP.  Ms. McNerney can also be seen lecturing on all topics related to anesthesia at national veterinary conferences.

Tasha shares her home with her husband, son, two cats, and a Catahoula leopard dog!
