Vickie Byard/Dr Carlos Rice, DVM, DAVDC Introduction to Veterinary Oral Surgery and Intra-Oral Imaging A Hands-On Continuing Education Seminar at CARES

This one day course is intended to be very practical and provide the veterinary practitioner with the knowledge and skill required to properly treat the majority of dentistry cases seen in the general practice. The lecture portion of this course will include a didactic approach to intra-oral radiographic positioning, technique, and interpretation. In addition, the fundamentals of oral surgery, instrumentation, and surgical technique will be discussed. Methods and materials required for regional oral anesthesia and analgesia will also be presented. The wet lab will involve extensive hands-on instruction with radiographic positioning, local anesthetic nerve blocks, creation of mucoperiosteal flaps, and surgical extractions in the dog and cat. Lecture and wet lab to be held at CARES. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This course will be offered on Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th.
